On Sat. June 25 I placed my 03 K1200ltc in BMW of North Houston to repair damage caused when the back wheel came off.(another story) The following wed June 28th my progressive insurance rep went over the repairs with them and ok'ed the repairs. To make a long story unbearable I've gotten nothing but a runaround and possible lies from Bill Murn the service manager. On friday July 7th. I was informed by him that my bike was completed except replacing the brake peddle spring and a fastener on the exhaust. He was informed that I would be in the following tuesday the 11th to pick it up. On tuesday when I called to confirn the bike was ready I was informed they had decided to replace the final drive instead of just replacing the spindle hub.( I wonder if that decission came about because of my questioning their procedure of checking the preload on the drive bearings?) Anyway it would not be ready. I went over thursday to see what was happening and found the bike had very little work done to it. All the things that Bill told me was done was not done. I was told they had the new final drive on friday morning and they would have the bike completed by sat. morning. On friday afternoon Bill called and informed me the new drive came in with a broken tab and another one had to be ordered. So now after the bike sitting in their shop for 4 weeks I am no closer to knowing where I stand than the day it was put in. When they opened their doors approx a year ago I made a visit and was impressed by their shop and the people there. Today I am not. From now on I guess I will have to travel farther and go back to Wild West in Katy for service. They have always done me right but it is a much longer drive.

I havn't heard anything, are they relocating or shutting down. Maybe I should just call them and find out. The only other out I have is Gulf Coast and I haven't used then for anything but a few parts. I'd hate to have to drive all the way to Austin.

First I'd like to correct the date that my bike was put in the shop , It was on June 10 not June 25th as stated, sorry. But 47 days later, yesterday afternoon thursday the 27th of July I picked up my bike. (I am now a happy man) After settling up the bill I was approached by J. Mark Dooley (owner) and had a discussion about my concerns. Mr Dooley seemed very sincere in his approach to correcting any concerns I had. He wished I had approached him earlier when I precieved I had a problem. On reflection I think he was right I should have approached him much earlier.
Just to recap my issues, although I considered 47 days too long in making repairs I can understand that things unforseen happen and I can live with that. I have no concerns with there mechanics, it looks like they did a good job, the work done on my bike at this point is what I expected, The biggest concern and major conflick I had was the miscommunication I had between the service manager and myself.
Will I use this dealership again ? Since the work seems good and the owner seems sincere in trying to satisfy customers I will seriously think about it. Hopefully this communication problem was a fluke. I sincerely hope so. Their are pitifully few good BMW dealership available and within reasonable range from home as it is.
One more thing, I had a Remus carbon fiber exhaust installed and I removed the top box. Man what a difference. I've stopped thinking about the new GT.

well let me be the first to tell ye that these people bite the big one.yeah I know watch what you say on here.
I took my bike in to get the radio fixed and a cold stall problem diagnosis.they proceeded to tell me my whole radio would have to be replaced due to water intrusion on the saddle bags but not to worry, its all covered under warranty.
they said it would be ready in about 4 days .
2 hours later joe krebbs the serv manager called to say they had an incident at the shop involving my bike, the tech they had went down on it test driving it.he said it wasnt that bad they would fix it like new.
a month and half later they deliver the bike at my shop in a big fancy trailer, the kidd has to push the bike out, hands me a bill for the autocom they installed says i need to pay for this and oh yeah your bike wont start.I told him to take it back and called the service dept, joe krebbs tells me awe one of the salesman were showing a customer how autocom works and run down my battery.3 weeks later still no bike, but two calls for payment on the com system.
I went out there and took them my title and told them to sell it,or else.
they sold it to some poor smuck telling him its a one owner, gave me a check for 10000.00 and kept the rest for their troubles.
Im really growing up or something used to be I would tear a place like that apart, now I just tell it like it is.you can buy a bmw motorcycle in houston but take it to some other town or state for service.
