Here's one for the techs out there. In search of a cheaper GPS than the 376C I have come up with a substitute deal for the whole mess, a new cell phone! Has VZ Navigator, weather radar, and an MP3 player. For as much as I'll ever use the critter probably VERY cost effective as I get the phone free on my next 2 yr. contract. Can I pipe the tunes of the MP3 thru the stingray cd player or back end of radio assembly? I seem to remember someone saying it was possible the BMW tech says no. I have an 05 LT. I'de tear into it but the rain won't give me enough time down here to get the job done now and I still have to order the phone. I could run thru helmet speakers and keep phone charged by 12v hook up but love our sound system even more. Any Ideas?
Thanks!

The Aux input on the back of the LT's radio doesn't care what you plug into it, as long as the impedance/power levels are correct. It doesn't know if you're using an iPod, GPS, or cell phone source. That additional AUX socket may be your best option here.

Brian,

I think this thread will give you all the info you need:

http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4311&highlight=auxillary

The 4th item from Crestwood330 is the easy way out and there are other options listesd such as FM modulators and making your own cable.

I think www.jameco.com had all the parts necessary to build your own when I was looking at the option.

I built one and used it for a short period but eventually went with the VOICE II. (I somehow lost it when I installed the VOICE II?)
