Yesterday, I installed my 2610 with a BMR shelf and the Garmin motorcycle mount kit. My question to the group is. What is the audio pigtail on the motorcycle mount kit (mono or stereo), and what ear buds will work with it?
I bought a 3.5mm to 2.5mm mono adapter and plugged in stereo earbuds and got nothing. Do I need a stereo adapter, or do I need mono earbuds? Or do I just look at the screen and not worry about listening to the sweet ladies voice.

I tested mine with standard Sony headphones and generic earbuds and it worked perfectly. I also used a 2.5-3.5 adapter. I guess it will work with any headphones. The sound came out of both ears. I did this because my Baehr adapter cable was faulty and I was trouble shooting whether it was the Baehr cable or the Garmin cable.

Thanks Brian. Guess it must be the wrong adapter. Will go back to Radio Shack tomorrow and get the Stereo Adapter, if they have one in stock. I found the catalog number for the stereo plug on their site. Hopefully that is all I need to finish the job.

Ended up that I had to purchase a new Garmin Power/Audio Cablekit to be able to hear with my headset. The original power cord was faulty. And since I ran the power to the handlegrip heater fuse block, as the cord is long enough. I had to dismantle the bike again for installation.
Works great now, and I am quite pleased.
