While riding today just south of Susanvile I was trying another route from Susanvile down 395 towards Reno. In GPS it looked like a great way to avoid the long boring run to Reno. The road was pure twisties and I was the only one on the road (except for the roaming cattle) until it just ended after 55 minutes (and ended on the curve!!). The CDF map even showed the road as paved all the way through. I guess not seeing any other cars was too good to be true, and the first clue.
I guess I need to get a GS… :)

Mark - The LT would've taken that smooth gravel forest road just fine. Just keep the speed down and be smooth, and hope it doesn't suddenly get worse.
Mark, Nice .sig. Scary, but true.

But my bike would have gotten dusty; in fact it would have gotten dirty.. :(

Try Monument Valley, the tourist loop for a good time on a GS track, but all you brought was LTs and RTs. See previous post of Red River Ride.
