Anyone care to share their recipes using Anaheim or Jalapeno peppers?

Tons on the 'net, but who knows if they are any good - would prefer to try some that you guys use and can vouch for.

I have 4 Anaheim and 4 Jalapeno plants and I am just starting to swim in peppers.... ;)

No specific recipes, but those are both good "general purpose" peppers. I'll dice up some jalapenos and scramble them into eggs, add them to spaghetti sauce, and the obvious Mexican food uses. Homemade salsa is always good, just get some fresh tomatoes, onion, cilantro and lime juice. I'll either dice them all up and hand mix them to make a nice chunky salsa, or throw them all in a blender and turn it into something with more of a smoothie texture. The latter is very versatile from a dip to a nice, spicey sponn-on condiment for omelettes, grilled beef, chicken, or pork, steamed or grilled veggies, etc. Or use the former method, add a couple of avocados and have some spicey guacamole!

Thanks David...

My 1st year trying to grow something - things are going better than I planned. Guess I should have had a plan! :)

Plan schmlan, experimenting is half the fun when it comes to cooking with spices! :)

You can roast on the bbq grill or blanch them in boiling water. Let them cool and put them into a Ziplock freezer bag with wax paper between each row. Freeze and use later. There is nothing like fresh Tamales at Christmas and New Years with an Anaheim Pepper salsa.

Look on this BBQ forum under Poppers and ABT's

http://www.kamado.com/discus/messages/2/23.html?1151969551

Lots of good BBQ stuff here and it is my other regular hangout. This link is to the Vegetable specific list, there is also a general recipe section and a several active discussion areas. Not as active as this site, but decent. Recipes are also scattered throughout the discussion areas. Use the search function and I'm sure you'll get some hits.

Breakfast burrito's with eggs, potatoes, cheddar, mozzerella and italian sausage. Try growing some big jim green chili's from hatch NM.By far the tastiest.
