Two weeks apart on the same road. First accident (June 30), driver turns left in front of bike. Both bikers killed.

Last Saturday (July 8) in the same area a car went left of center, striking 6 bikers on 4 bikes. One man dead at the scene; his brother died of a heart attack after being treated and released. Another couple (husband and wife, both of whom we went to school with) seriously injured; the wife had her leg amputated today. This sucks.

IIRC SR 146 is one of Joe's favorite roads.

Be careful out there. Even when we're not at fault, we lose.

Howard,
Sorry to hear about your friends, That is a real bummer. I gave 2 of my Harley friends the riot act yesterday for riding in a T shirt and mostly for their crappy lighting both front and back.

Howard,
Sorry to hear about your friends, That is a real bummer. I gave 2 of my Harley friends the riot act yesterday for riding in a T shirt and mostly for their crappy lighting both front and back.To be honest, I wasn't trying to make the claim that these folks are close to our family. It's a small community; we went to school with them, her father is a local minister and gave the eulogy at my mother's funeral; they are related to people in our church, and so on. Just hits kind of close to home, no matter how close (or not) the relationship.

I should have added the husband in this case was not wearing a helmet, and while he did have several broken bones and other injuries, he has no head injuries from this accident. Go figure.

Its just a shame when people are out having a good time riding and some one not paying attention takes them out.The point I was try to relay about the harley friends was their lighting. I could hardly keep track of them behind me. If I can't see them easily I know a cager not paying attention will not. When you see a LT coming with HID and auxiliary lights you really notice it. People actually give me a wide birth.

Maybe we should all do what we can to get our riding friends to wear ATGATT, add lighting, especially. I've always wondered why so many HDs have that single little rear light. They do seem to be into the additional riding lights up front, but I rarely see more than 1 red light on the back.

*Sometimes no matter what you prepare for they get you anyway!

I had a close call this week myself when a car for no reason came up along side me & quickly swerved into my lane forcing me over the double yellow line on a 4 lane road into on coming traffic!

*Lucky for me there were no cars oncoming and
my reaction time was spot on.

I cursed a blue streak at him thru his window when I caught up to him & his female passenger.
