I have met up with some of the local Western wa. riders and they seem to be interested in a ride to eat. Anybody interested? What time and day sounds good for you? Lets start with Thursday at 6pm at ROOTERS out in Lake Sawyer. Good BBQ. Totally flexable at this point so let us know what works for you.

:yeah: God willing and the creek don't rise, it sounds like a plan. I've never eaten there and I sure do like good Q. :D

It would be great to see you again Jim. I have not eaten there either, But feel the same as you when it comes to BarBQ. Ian suggested it. Hopefully he can make it!

Jim,
Can you make it on tuesday?

I have to take Rufus into the shop after work on Tuesday so it would be a little difficult for me to make it by 6:00PM. I would also have to show up on JDsHOG but that's no big deal ;). I just won't be able to keep up and I won't blend in so well :D. If it looks like Tuesday works for the majority go for it. I can always show up a little late.

Jim,
Is Rufus sick? I wouldn't mind seeing your "other woman" How about the rest of the locals? You all busy? Nothing but reruns on the tv!!

No I am just having my 24k done a little early in preparation for CCR. I will be on the road from August 15th through September 15th. I have to spend three weeks down in Tucson for work between now and then so I don't have the time to do everything myself.

Jim, Tucson and Brasleton GA, you must like the heat!

Brian,

Garmin is having a not-so-good-time finding Lake Sawyer, WA. Where is it?

Ernie,
Thats a good question, I do not yet know where this place is! But I think Lake Sawyer is part of Maple Valley. Are you going to go?

Thanks Jim,
I just went to post a map and you beat me to it. The phone number is 360 886-1763. My friends that live nearby say its excellent BBQ. I guess thats why Ian picked it! Indoor and outdoor seating

I would recommend that if you do get 8 people or more that you make reservations.

Inside seating is more relaxing and scenic (recommended). The outside seating is an extension of their building with tarp walls. Nothing special to be in.

prices average around $12

Enjoy.

I'm working on call this week and don't know for sure what my free time is going to be. I was wondering if it was a place I could reach if the opportunity presented itself.:)

Ernie,
We would be honored, Any of you Oregon types are always welcome. I have been checking into the place and heard nothing but excellent reviews. I may need to get there a little early to secure a table or two.

Quite the menu. I think I will have to try the Sampler Dinner just to best evaluate all the Q varieties that they offer :thumb:. Oh and don't forget the .

Thank you Brian, but looking at the trip and being on-call will negate this one. We need to get on the books for a meet in the middle. Perhaps Randall or Morton? I-5 is soooooo boring.

I just got home from a trip to Redmond and Seattle (yeah, both places in one night with a stop in Fife on the way back:mad: ). Dispatch is Killing Me! If I was on a bike instead of a truck It would have been a whole lot more enjoyable. As far as weekend rides I'm thinking a North Cascades ride for early August? I'll post a new thread for this. We will be making an overnight of this trip.:)

An over nighter sounds good, especially along the north cascades.Count me in. Sorry you can't make it thurs.
This is our first RTE up here so I figured simply and easy would work best. We'll see what kind of flexability we have with everyones schedules at dinner. Randle and Morton is a good meeting point to think about in our next RTE"S. Its a nice ride from this end for sure. You have several nice options as well.

Brian,

Thank you for picking a great place for dinner . What a great idea RTE we should make this a weekly or at least monthly habit .

I purpose how about aother next week and maybe we may even see more people ath the next one . Although a small group is still great.

Brian,

It was nice to see you and Clayton again and to meet you Jim. Good company, good food and some good tire kicking. We'll have to do it again. I'm going an a Washington Road Riders Association RTE this sunday at a BBQ place in McCleary. It might be a good place for a weekend RTE. http://www.ranchhousebbq.net/ I'll let everyone know.

I ditto all the comments. The Q was good and I did have the Sampler Dinner. Their hot BBQ sauce wasn't hot by Cajun, SW or Texican standards but it was quite tasty. The baked beans were excellent especially if you like them a little on the sweet side. The Rooters folks were very nice and had no problems with us clogging up a table for 2 1/2 hours. I will definately be going back there again.

Some good jaw jacking occured and the exchange of must ride routes in the NW was great. I am already modifying my outbound route to CCR to take advantage of a couple of them.

Thanks guys for a great RTE evening. For those that were not there I wasn't totally representing the dark side showing up on my Harley. I decided to cross dress a little and wore my Sidi summer boots instead of my HD harness boots :D. I definately have a split personality when it comes to riding my motorcycles ;).

Between work and my 4+ week CCR junket I will be pretty much out of town through the third weekend in September so I am glad I had this opportunity.

Yea their hot sauce is a far cry from hot, but tasty. So now that My wife and I are CPR and first aid certified we would be happy to RTE after I put my scoot back together (12k service), So count us in!

Well I went to the Ranch House BBQ and it has my vote. Very good bbq with the prices being a little spendy but worth it. I had a briskit sandwitch with garlic frys and beans and I left a happy person. Only problem was that it was a 101 degrees down there and didn't let up. Cool vest with also soaking my shirt and mesh coat got us there and back via Hood channel. Great day.
