Sad News....

Just received this from a fellow Blue Knight, I'm sure some from the NYC area knew him or attended his classes. He will be missed.


I am sorry to have to inform, that this morning, July 11, 2006, I have learned that Gasper Trama has passed away from cardiac complications.

Gasper is the vice-president of the Motorcycle Association of New York State and president of Trama's Auto School.

Many of you have met Gasper and have benefited from his expertise and knowledge.

At this time, I do not have any further details regarding the arrangements.

Please take some time to include Gasper's family in your prayers and thoughts.

The NY/NJ/CT area has lost one of the best reasons for being a motorcyclist. Anyone who knew him will be pained by his departure.

Gasper Trama, Jr.
is the vice-president of the Motorcycle Association of New York State (MANYS). Gasper, president of Trama’s Auto School, Inc., located in Woodhaven, New York, has taught motorcycling since 1966, including "on-street" lessons in New York City. Gasper became a certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor in 1982 and is a National Safety Council (NSC) chief instructor. Gasper has personally trained celebrities such as Alan Alda, Miguel Forbes, Liam Niesson, Sonja Braga, Scott Baio and Matthew Broderick to mention a few.

In addition to being known as the "Trainer to the Stars", Gasper has received the following Nationally Acclaimed awards:

I was taught by Gasper....Great great guy & will be deeply missed by all who knew him....
