View Full Version : 06 LT headset

Picking up our new 06 LT tommorrow at Battley's in rockville, wife just can't make the trip on the back of my 12GS. They don't have any headsets in stock so I'm looking around for any headsets that will work on the 06 model. Leaving for VT on 7/19 am from MD. The ones BMW sells are quite pricy imo and would consider any alternative. The two I have for an 05 H-D Ultra will not fit so they will go with the harley.
Suggestions please.

Go with J&M's headsets, which is who makes them for BMW. You can info at http://www.jmcorp.com/ but buy them at a discounted price at Sierra Electronics at http://www.sierra-mc.com/. Hope it helps - PM me if you have any questions.

You might be able to get the headsets & install at the rally. Auto com is usually there also, & does installs of the complete unit plus helmets.

Thanks for the replies, I think I will buy them at the rally and have them installed. I have seen post on this board saying the quality of the J&M speakers is less than great.

I would have to disagree. I have two of the J&M headsets now for 3 years, and I feel the sound clarity, quality of workmanship and overall experience with the J&M equipment has been top notch. The helmet speakers are awesome.

Which of the J&M speakers did you get? Following J&M's advice, I had them install their intermediate grade speakers in my full-face Arai Quantum S. I find base response is virtually nonexistent, and have taken to leaving on my external speakers to supplement those in the helmet for this reason. The person at J&M told me their premium speakers would sound muddled in a full-face helmet, but those which were recommended have been very disappointing.

There you go LTmotor, as soon as you said something good about the J&M comes someone with a negative. The salesman at my dealer recomends the J&M. Does anyone have the Kenwoods that BMW is selling?
