Bob and Jeanie,
We are entertaining out of town guests this weekend for Pauline's birthday. We wish (secretly of course;) ) that were on the bike instead. We would love to join you and Jeanie, but it is impossible this weekend. We are looking to re-arrange our vacation from October to September to join your 5X5 ride. If the employers are willing we will be there. :D
RIDE ON!

We'll keep our fingers crossed on the 5x5 plans. We reconned about 80% of it during this trip to make sure it will be a quality experience. We are at the Phoenix in Bend. Had our first experience of getting hailed on about 20 miles out of town. Marble sized along with very powerful thunder and lightning strikes close aboard. We have run into many unexpected challenges so far but that's part of the fun of being on the road! At one point we had the entire road for about 120 feet all the way across about 4 inches deep in Mormon Crickets. We did a bit of a slip and slide through that one. Had some nice discussions with David Hough at the rally. Quite a personable chap. Got him to sign a copy of Street Strategies for me along with a nice photo. I think he might enjoy the 5x5 as well. ;)

I was at the rally yesterday and it was HOT. (borrowed from PARIS):D
I left the rally yesterday at 14:30 and drove back to Seattle. That too was HOT.:)
While coming around the turns across the highway from Keechelus Lake (aka stump lake) and deer was standing on the fog line as I came around the corner. I am happy to say he didn't like my music or my deer whistles.;) He turned tail and ran back up the hill.
I really enjoyed seeing many of my BMW friends at the rally.
