Nav II map updates

How does the Nav II get the map updates (road changes, new BMW Dealerships, etc)? Are new discs required? Do you get updates online?

The Navigator II uses City Navigator (maps) from Garmin (current version is v8). Update DVD can be retrieved from Garmin for free but the unlock code you need to buy on-line at garmin.com for USD 75.-

Updates for Mapsource (the computer program) can be retrieved from garmin.com for free. For updates on the software of your Nav II you need to go to bmw-motorrad.com (the international site) -> under 'products' go to 'navigation and communication' -> 'downloads'.
