Since Tuesdays rain and flooding the southern tier of NY from the Catskill Mountains west into Binghamton was pretty bad. Thursday it took us 7 hours to drive home from downstate (147 miles). All interstates were closed so had to weave through the mountains and back roads to return home.

Went out on the LT today to survey the damage. Binghamton, Vestal, Conklin, Hancock, Deposit, Windsor, Unadilla and Harpursville were flooded. Many families were evacuated and lost everything. Worst hit was Walton. Total devastation down town; nothing was spared. National Guard and Army corp of engineers are on scene for the clean-up effort.

We were lucky, only lost half of our driveway.

Wow, I did not realize things were that bad. Amy and I have been in ME and nova Scotia the last week camping and staying out of touch. We just got in about 30 minutes ago and I went straight here to catch up. Seems like everyone is doing well. Hope to see you all soon. Hope all your loved ones were out of harms way up there in NY.

Talk soon, ihave an idea that you guys might like. I will introduce you to it in a separate post.

Hey, Chuck!

Old "Mother Nature" can sure change your perspective and priorities in a hurry, can't she?

Glad to hear you've come through relatively unscathed!
