I read the following thread (http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7099) and believe I have decided on getting the Valentine V1.

However, after receiving an email from J&M that they do not make a cable or modify the V1 to work with the 2006 VOICEII, I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

I would rather not use the AUX port as that port is not active unless AUX is selected, thus I would not hear any alerts when not using the AUX.

I'm I missing something?

Thanks
Mark

I have the same question. Anyone have information on interfacing Valentine audio with Voice on 2005 K1200LT

In case you didn't know (although at this point you probably do) J&M does not make the VoiceII.

On my 2005, I tapped the output from the V1 remote audio adapter into the VOICE unit using the input for the GPS. It has worked very well in that it will mute the music for the alarm. If you do that, you will need to add a ground loop isolator to the V1 output. If you also have a GPS, you will need to make a very simple passive mixer to combine the audio from the V1 and GPS.

If you have a CB or GPS with a plug for a mp3 or cd player would that not work. Making a cable is not that hard just a pain in the @##.

I had a local TV repair shop make a couple for me. Be sure to use shielded wire.

Radio shack has all you need to do it just need to know if two pole or three pole plugs and if 2.5 or 3.5 mm plugs on which end. Having the cable that comes with it helps re verifing the continuity to which connection.

Does anybody have this figured out? I'm trying to interface a Garmin ZUMO 550 audio out which includes the XM output plus a Valentine 1 audio out into the Voice II on a 2007 K1200LT. Any help would be most welcome.

Any help would be most welcome. :confused:Sounds like a combo of above. your Zumo would go to the GPS input. Maybe the trick would be to get a "Y", put that into the Voice-II GPS port and then put the V-1 and Zumo into the "Y".

The trick though is that the Zumo has XM and mp3 (?).

So maybe plug the Zumo into the Aux to get your music, I think the Zumo would mute it's own music volume for directions and then put the V-1 into the GPS port on the Voice II. Yeah, probably the second configuration...

I recently purchased a 2007 LT and am still in the process of figuring all the electric/audio inputs and outputs out. I was looking for a much longer cable to used for my Blackberry to I could mount it outside the little box they want you to put it in. I found http://www.mycableshop.com/index.asp. They seem to have just about any kind of cable you could possible want or they can create it in any length needed. Not sure if this will help but worth a try for the connection.

I have a 2002 LT with the BMW Comm system.
I saw a note in the doc that there was a connector for radar audio.
It took me 2 days to find it, but here it is:
Radar audio input is located in the left handlebar cover
3 wire connector (same as GPS connector)
Red = 12V power when key in ON position
White = Audio input for radar
Black = ground for both audio and 12V
Works great for me - GPS and radar audio mutes my audio as expected.
