Anyone experimented with larger tire sizes on the K1200lt...curious Minds want to Know...matthew

Taller, or wider? There's not any room for wider...both front and back. Then again...my B'Stone BT-020 Radial got wide the longer I owned it! :D

When you change the tire size you change the geometry and the design points on the way the bike handles in the twisties.. I am told, from smarter people than me, (at least I think so) that you can go smaller as long as the tire manufacturer says the tire will fit the width of the rim.. If you go fatter then the rim pinches the tire and makes the thread curl at the end of the thread and if it is severe enough or you hang far enough out on the thread you will have 'extreme' loss of traction..
