Anyone try the TOM TOM RIDER?

Has anyone tried the TOM-TOM RIDER, or know anyone who has?

I looked at the Tom Tom Rider last year passing through Heathrow coming back from Kenya. While it seemed like a nice unit, you cannot plot routes on a PC and then upload them to the GPS. To me that is important, but it may not be high on your list of things. The plus is that is designed for motorcycle use and is waterproof.

I use the Tom Tom Rider and it has worked well so far. I don't worry about not being able to set the route on a PC first as it's easy to do it on the Rider itself. I believe the latest version of the OS (version 6) allows you to set the route on the PC. I find the bluetooth link works well and the sound can be heard up to 80mph although it needs the volume on maximum and can be partly drowned out by wind noise. This is with the helmet speaker. I've tried the earphone but this became uncomfortable after an hour or so.
I was able to use the provided mounts to fit the unit on the instrument coaming using two rubber nuts.

The Rider then sits at an easy to see position without blocking any of the instruments.

The screen can be a little difficult to see in bright sunlight, especially when the sun is behind you. However the voice directions are generally clear and easy to follow.
