Out on a ride yesterday I noticed my screens would not change when I pushed any of the buttons. Then the screen started vibrating back and forth rapidly.
I turned off the GPS several times to try and reboot and left it off for a couple of hours.
I turned it back on later on the ride and all is well at the moment...
* What happend or is happening to my beloved GPS?

There may be a card that's becoming unseated inside...or a bad solder joint. But let's talk about the flash card for a moment. What "type" are you using, I or II? My 2.2GB Type II can be slower at times, and cause the screen to get a leetle jittery while the 2610 is recalculating a route. Or . . . perhaps your CF card just needs reseated.

*Thanks Joe, -
Both suggestions make sense.. It is the 512 San Disk Card that came with the BMW unit. It says it can use both type 1 & 2. I just reseated it and hope that was it. I don't know how to tell type 1 or 2. It was manufactued in 2004.
Next ride will tell eh?

The Type II are thicker...almost twice as thick. They kinda look like a slightly smaller card on top of a Type I.
If it's only a 512...chances are good that it's a Type I.
