The tech session @ Howard's was just super. Money, jokes and parts exchanged, great food served.

If you missed it, I hear he is having one every week!

We had some cool (I think) pictures taken. I forgot my digital camera... so someone please post.

Thanks Again,
Mike in Hilliard

Thanks for being there, Mike. We had a great time and we enjoyed meeting you.

It's 9:30 p.m.; the last 2 guys left at 9:00 (Joe and Mike from Cleveland area); we escorted them up towards I-70. I'll post some photos and comments in a separate thread.

Man, looks like an awesome shop. Now, if it was air conditioned, you could bring it to my house as Dick doesn't look real good when he's soaking wet with sweat!

Thanks to Howard and Lisa for hosting this event and to Joe and Mike and all the other guys who know more about the LT than I sure did! All I can say is if your new to the LT world and you want to get some schooling, do yourself a favor and try and attend a session in your neighborhood!

Now I can ride with my "Harley friends" and use the rear brakes, since they are quiet as a mouse. Oh thats another story that will remain a secret from all the PETA types in the world.

Food was too die for LISA, although my wife didnt think those beans were so good on the ride back too Medina.

Rock posted it HERE (http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=75885&postcount=9). I think the scariest part of that pic is me looking up the business side of Rock's bike!!! "SCARY" doesn't begin to describe. :D

RockRock, that's a great action photo of Mr. Mouse; he's right in the middle of his "Oh crap, which way is the door so I can get away from all these 6' 250# guys with big boots on?" move.

Joe. Just consider yerself lucky that Rock didn't feed any of those baked beans to his LT. Now that would've bean really scary.

I also had a great time and great food. I think next time we ought to try somth'n more intense like a -----Clutch -----or Crown gear change. Just kidd'n!

Thanks again howard and Lisa for hosting a really great day,

Mike I did the thing with the trunk latch.
I pulled the E-clips, and pins out of the latching mech. then locked the handle, in the closed position. So now it is locked so it cant get worse and the lid sits on by gravity like yours.

Howard and Lisa-
I had a great time and you were perfect hosts. When you bring the lift back - make sure it comes with some beans!!! Some things I learned from the Tech Session:

* There are a great bunch of LT riders out there- with a sense of humor, thick skins and nothing is sacred with this crowd. If I hear one more Rothlesberger joke or "cowboy" reference.... Its been a while since I laughted this hard.

What I Learned From:
* Joe- there is no "box" in his way of thinking. I learned more in 10 mins about real world riding than I could by spending months on the web. Learn from the people who do!!! Joe likes to invade other mfg rallies and challenge them with rides to Seattle (why Seattle all the time), writes nasty notes on Harley trailers and likes to "rice up" his ride. He would be a big dick if he wasnt so damn funny. Your the best. :)

* Rock- the LT is just fine riding in a stream- adjust the shocks for it. Iron City and Agent Orange doesnt mix. Your a hoot - my guts are still hurting from laughing.

* Howard- I dont want to sponsor a Tech Session at my house.

* Lisa- how a simple can of beans can be transformed into a 5 star meal.

* Joe's Friend (sorry cant remember her name)- us BMW riders need to freshen our image a bit. I think she had a better time than she thought she would have.

*Hilliard Mike- Never wear any article of clothing that can be changed into a nickname.

* Mike- too many guys named Mike.

* Rock & Kim- Harleys suck because they dont have as many fingers in the tranny and the clutch plates are old screen doors. No O2 sensors on the bikes plus they dont handle water very well. You cant flip people off because you need both hands on the bars.

People talk about a passion for riding... If they ever wanted to experience this passion without actually getting on bike then this tech session was the place to do it. Great bunch of BMW people and a great event. We should do this more often , not a my place mind you but we should do this more often.

Jim

PS - I learned a lot about tape.

Thanks for the kind words. But really . . . I'm just Joe, being Joe. :)

1.Good thing I was on my best sunday chiorboy manners.
2.Not even if your just using one as a chaser for the other? That IC leaves a crappy taste in your mouth.
3. Three times he said not at his house, is that reverse pcyh.. 101 or what.
HEY EVERYONE NEXT MEETING AT JIM'S PLACE
Rock
I'm off to the post to mail out pictures, it is pouring down rain. Which is good because then all those sidewalk commando's wont be waving at me, Ah Yeah, See God Loves Me!

Jim, that's a great summary, and very funny... because it's all true!

Yet, I'm concerned: why not have one at your house:
Because it was a lot of prep work?
Because you live in a nice, respectable neighborhood and some of the guys (OK, 2 of them) who were present on Saturday might alarm the neighbors?
Because some of the, uh... m/c traffic might cause the Dublin PD to block the street in front of your house? (I'm thinking of the way Rock took off on his test ride at Warp Factor 7 with 2 new shocks installed and a rear wheel just reinstalled 5 minutes previously... that man has faith.) :D
Some other reason?
Just curious!

I think we should do it at least quarterly, we can all wear name tags Hi my name is Mike :D
My thought on the test ride, if your gonna trash it, do it where ya have the people to put it back together.
God looks out for drunks and fools, so for many years I had double coverage. Now I think I might still get extra slack cause I amuse him.

My thought on the test ride, if your gonna trash it, do it where ya have the people to put it back together. See? That's what I mean -- that makes sense. Really. Now I learned something new today and the Tech Session was over, 2 days ago.

I liked the beads. I need to get some for the trip to Vermont.
It was strange at first especially on the gravel in Howard's driveway but once I got used to them I liked them.

Well Mike from Medina was so boisterous, that I just took a back seat!
Besides I didn,t want to get all the Kazars nervous! :(
