Greetings people.

It's finally happened inspite of me being so careful. I was moving the LT off its centre stand in readiness for a ride, its weight caught me unawares with a little lean to the left and I couldn't hold her. I was fortunately lucky enough to be able to gently guide her over until she rested on those unbelievable black bumper strips. I can't believe how well they work. The previous owner has done the same thing as indicated by previous small marks on the bumper strips. Short of adding a few small scratches to the collection already on the bumper strips, we both got off without any further damage what-so-ever.

Now the clever part. I remember reading a thread on the technique of getting these big machines back on the straight and level. I backed up to the Bismarck, took hold of the handle bar and the grip to pull the beast back up onto the centrestand and using the legs, up she came back onto an even keel.

What a superb technique. I forget the clever person that invented this technique but thankyou indeed. I was relieved to sustain no damage and relieved to get her back up.

Kindest regards to all.

If not, always try to be on the bike when moving it. Lots easier to handle.

I believe that was Al Gore... right after he invented the internet...

Oh Dano, yes I was on the beasty while I was rocking it forward off its centrestand. I must have just lost a little concentration for a split second and allowed her to list to port too much. I will in the future have to take even more care to avoid a repeat of this incident and how lucky we both were getting away without damage.

Kindest regards

C'mon Paul, you're gonna have to try a lot harder to remember that thread, or you'll just have to re-explain in greater detail on "How To Do It"! Handle bar and the grip? What grip? Us new LT owners need to know this stuff - it's priceless!!!

Thanks in advance
