Here is a great price on rim protectors, usually $7-8 a pair.

You need at least three, so buy two sets.

I got a set of really nice 15" thin tire irons from a seller on eBay. About half what the local M/C shops sell them for.

I purchased the NoMar tire irons since they have a built in rim protector. NOTE: They do NOT work for removing the tire so I would be hard pressed to recommend them.

Installing a tire they work fine.
