Thanks for setting up the account! Good article.

While riding pillion on the LT, Julie is frequently tells me about guys in minivans or SUVs full of whining crotch fruit gazing wistfully at our bike at stop lights.

One stupid quote, though: "There is something about being on a bike that is singularly American."

Huh? No. Driving everywhere in a pickup truck is "singularly American"!

Since more people per-capita in India ride motorbikes for their personal transportation, it would be better to say "There is something about being on a bike that is singularly Asian."

I'm not going to second guess his thought process, but I read that to mean that riding a motorcycle in America is more about pleasure and pursuing a sense of spirituality instead of using the motorcycle like a simple form of transportation like the rest of the world. But then again, I might be reading more into it than is there.
