I have a 2610 and was at a motorcycle rally. How do you mark the location for a wavepoint to find later? Can I save it to my computer when I arrive back at home?

With your 2610 turned on; simply hold down the Page button (top right) for about 4 seconds and the current location will pop up in the form of a Waypoint. You can edit the default number to a better name or simply accept it.
Note: Do not forget to update both the unit firmware and mapsource often.

I create waypoints on-the-fly...as I pass things that I want to waypoint for future reference.

My point wasn't so much to correct you, but to explain the fact that I can create waypoints on-the-fly as I pass them, but don't have the time to stop (especially if I'm with a group).
