While riding through southern Ohio on my LT...headed to North Carolina, I sealed the deal with Rich at Roman Cycle. He gave me a GREAT deal on the bike, on the accessories, and on the 600-mile maintenance. I won't kiss & tell too much...but let's just say that I'm one happy camper! http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/images/smilies/dance.gif
I should have the GT by Wednesday, or Thursday at the latest...

If it makes you feel any better...
I just called the dealer and he's not sure what day the bike is getting shipped. Fortunately, I'm not in a hurry. And, there's a guy contemplating buying my Ninja as I type this . . . so that would make a nice down-payment, now wouldn't it? Good things come to those who wait. (At least, that's what I keep telling myself.)

I rode the Cal24 this weekend, and pretty much thrashed the LT for all it was worth. There were lots of FJRs there, and a bike magazine reporter on a dealer-loaned GT. It easily got the most interest of anything there, and would have been perfect for this sort of ride. Several time I wished I had less weight and more power, but after 1200 miles of mostly twisties, followed by a 550-mile slab ride home I sure appreciated the LT's comfort.
Do give us a full write-up, of course. I assume you're getting a trunk for those two-up rides? And to be able to mount a teddy bear, of course. ;)

Joe,
You have to contain yourself before you wet your pants! CONGRATS on the new-to-be baby in your garage! And Ken, you're right, he does suck but as the saying goes, "The one with the most toys wins!"
Hey, Joe, I just completed a 3100 mile solo tour of northern Utah, Virginia City, NV, past Lake Tahoe to Sacramento, on to Napa Valley, to Hwy #1 up the CA coast, then thru Redwood Forests (saw Little Red Riding Hood or some darned dame in red), up the Oregon coast, to Crater Lake, to MtSt Helens in WA and on to home...ten days of bliss filled with lots of twisties and a enormous appreciation of the LT's nimbleness.
